@SectF1 They didn't make the first ever car. However they did make the first car with the controls we know today (CBA pedals, gearstick to the left/right and a steering wheel) All other cars before that used complex systems using mostly levers.

@SectF1 ; Mercedes may have beaten others in producing the first motor vehicle, but he didn't invent the first combustion engine etc, he just got it to the media first....

Also seeing as they have been producing cars for so long why are they among the few manufacturers that will build a car that begins to rust within warrenty?

@SectF1 I didn't want to sound disrespectful. But Mercedes was never extremely lucky at the 24h of Le Mans: they only bought home one victory (In 1952), overshadowed by the accident in 1955 that saw a 300 SLR as a protagonist and left 84 persons dead, and those ridicule backflips in '99.

After the horrible experience with the CLR and the dramatic incident at the 1954 24h, I hope Mercedes understood that the Circuit de la Sarthe hates them.

it happened to webber twice driving for mercedes, and they sacked him for it.

only to happen again in the same car for the replacement driver..
