The Wilkes-Barre City Health Department is administering flu shots this year with two drive through clinics where residents can drive their cars around the Kirby Health Center and be given a flu shot.
Director of the Health Department, Ted Kross, talked about the drive through clinics and the flu vaccine in general.
All vaccines will be administered through the Kirby Health Center located at 71 North Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre. Wilkes-Barre residents who want to attend the Drive through clinics simply drive through the Health Center's cobblestone path, sign a consent form, and then drive around the building to have their shot administered.
There are two drive through clinics: Friday Sept. 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There are also regular clinics which will be on going through October: Monday, October 3rd: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, October 7th: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Thursday, October 13th: 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday, October 14th: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, October 17th: 1 p.m. -- 4 p.m. Friday, October 21st: 1 p.m. -- 4 p.m. Monday, October 24th: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, November 4th: 2 p.m. -- 4 p.m.

Convenient- yes. BUT, people are supposed to wait for 15-20 minutes after receiving a vaccine in case of an anaphylactic reaction.
