I used to live on a council estate until I moved to America to go to college. I still have a huge fear of living in those shiteholes again. Americans have it good!

We need to change the economic model we have, it just doesn't appear to be working..

Exactly I dobt give a fuck what any of the liberal whingers on here say. NO ONE SHOULD GET MONEY FOR NOTHING, whilst hard working people who saved and pensioners are living in even worse poverty. This government has slit the economys throat with its crazy policies designed to buy the loyalty of the scumbag masses. No wonder half the world is headed here, they know all they have to do is get to our shores and their set for life.

I think that's the point of the show. People "at the top" are just out of touch with what's actually going on.
There's another great show about company presidents going undercover to see what it's really like working at the ground level. It's called "Undercover Boss".

Some good points.

They dont want massive wages,They just want masive benefits.

YOU ARE A SCHITSO PRICK.
More importantly, why is it taking a TV programme to force MP's to actually see the people they represent.
People struggle and are trying to get by. Sadly, MP's are quite happy to believe the hype that everyone on benefits is a work-shy scrounger. They don't realise that the system they brag about is what keeps people at a low level.
It's easy to judge people when you are not at the recieving end of these "fantasic" government schemes. I used to judge before I saw the reality for myself.

Remember that a lot of these areas suffered after deindustrialisation.
Look at Brum, areas like Handsworth never really recovered from the loss of manufacturing. Hull the same story, loss of fishing & processing industry. Dagenham one word FORD (or lack of)
We promised these people new jobs as part of the new economy, none were ever delivered. People should remember only 50 years ago the majority of people like those represented in this programme were employed!
