im 23 and im sick of all these new shit films coming out and it made me realise there are many many good films made in the 70s 60s and even 50s

My great grandfather was part of the bridge on the river kwai. The japanese captured him from Singapore, sent him there. He left his family for 3 years, and my great grandmother was left alone to feed 6 children. (one of which is my grandfather)

He returned after 3 years, my family thought he died. There was no form of telecommunication at that time. My great grandfather hijacked a vehicle and drove back to Singapore.

This is a true story that has been as I call it "Hollywoodized" meaning it has been changed up for the movie. Other films like the Great Escape has been Hollywoodized too, still both these movies are some of the best war films to date.

yeah, I mean youre comparing the best movies of the course of several decades to all movies now, of course old ones will be better. in 30 years people will take all the good movies of today (and yes, there are some) and say our movies were good because again theyre comparing a generation of film to very recent ones
