@marcineer the opening is actually a hymn from the russian orthodox church. as is it always in the 1812 overture. most do not know this as they dont know the origins of this piece of music. they just assume its 'that music we hear on the fourth of july'"

The second mucis sounds alot like French national Hymn : "Allons enfants de la patrie"... odd for WW2 battles between Russians and Germans but... nice video anyway, love it !

@Evil1270 That is because the music you are referring to IS a quotation of La Marseillaise. The 1812 Overture was written by Tchaikovsky to commemorate the 75th anniversary of defeating Napoleon's army (in 1812). So naturally, he quotes both the Russian National Hymn and the French to symbolize the two forces in the battle.

@rachmaniralf Are you referring to how I cut up the piece itself? I didn't include the ENTIRE 1812 Overture because it's about 15-20 minutes long and no machinima work that focuses on game play (no story, etc) can keep anyone's interest for that long. It just wouldn't be an effective video.
