Appleby station 2007 Pendolino diversions

This video was taken in April 2007 at Appleby station on the Settle and Carlisle line. Due to the West Coast Main Line being shut the 57s were dragging the pendolinos, and Voyagers were also running. We also see the local services between Leeds and Carlisle as well as 60s on Limestone.

3:01 How is this Virgin train powered? I can't see overhead wires or a "third rail" system! And how about Pendolino? I see it pulled by diesel tractor. Is this because this line is not electrified and connects two electrified rail networks?
