In this beginner friendly video, I show you what I think is nessicary for a powerful kick. All these things I bet you were taught before, im just going over them again so that you can check it out for yourself and see if your making these mistakes. my first realisation of why my kicks were wrong was actually when i compaired my kicks to mirko cro cops, i tried to find out what he was doing and i aplyed it to myself. sorry for the peircing sounds at the begining, i was using my sisters camera.

  • ok so, ur "major breakthrough" is mostly pointing out the difference between a diagonal kick and a round kick, your "breakthrough" has been around for many years thanks to muay thai, taekwondo and so on. your video is actually misleading 1- both kicks have their uses 2- spinning on the balls of ur feet instead of preloading ur hips with a solid step will give u agility not power 3- u arent even kicking the bag, ur merely slapping it with ur foot. step across the bag and kick through it

  • about the foot ask bas rutten

  • IF SOMETHING WORKS ITS NOT WRONG :D , even if something can be bettered. So i use some i learned from this vid to add with what i already know and what i think is a good way to kick..

  • I know its good to kick on your shin BUT it still urts

  • @britishpunk21 nah, you're the actual shame.

  • hey sissy boy..ur such a shame for martial arts name!

u better go nd play with ur dog shit instead of being Mr.van dam!

  • Like the vid but you kind of couldn't be more wrong about the footwork. In terms of power you really want to turn your foot to open your hips. That's the point. The more open they are the more range of movement you have. That way you can drive through the kick. It also gives you a sturdier base and more torque from the ground up. When you just spin like a top on your lead foot you're losing all that extra force. When I do mine I like to set it up with a step outside during a 1-2, Shogun style.

  • I admire the fact that your thinking instead of assuming your doing it correctly. You're basically doing what martial artist did before there were martial arts. Necessity is the mother of invention, I commend you for the effort you are obviously putting forth. Keep it up, you'll be laying them flat in no time. I would advise that you do get some structured training or study other fighters, either way growth is growth. Keep it up!!!

  • He's trying..it is better than sitting around and doing nothing at all....
