This is a strange composition - film style of the 1930' s- and seemingly an intended vehicle for Robin's special talents. Unlike Lily Pons, however, who gives the impression she is showing off her high notes, Mado also injects expression into what she is singing. This is evidenced in the Proch Variations where she shines and Pons is simply boring.

Some of the finest singing Mado Robin ever put on wax although it sounds like someone stuck a pin in her at the end. Beautifully lyrical singing with neat coloratura flourishes. Thanks for posting!
