Steve Wariner - All Roads Lead To You (WITH LYRICS), From The Album Steve Wariner 1982

Blacktop's burning; heat waves rise
Pick up my shovel, put my back to the grind
Got another job at Flagstaff
and this one is paid

I work the freeway; the pay's alright
but I can't get you off my mind
'cause every stretch of highway
ends the same

CHORUS
All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget
but it's no use
Your memory is there
wherever I go
whatever I do
all roads lead to you

The boss says one more mile to go
The last one always goes so slow
If I could just turn off my mind
I'd be alright

I keep wondering what went wrong
Who's holding you now that I'm gone
There's not a minute that goes by
you don't cross my mind

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget
but it's no use
Your memory is there
wherever I go
whatever I do
all roads lead to you

Sun's getting to me
think I see you in every car that passes by me
No way around it: I'll always love you
any fool can read the signs

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget
but it's no use
Your memory is there
wherever I go
whatever I do
all roads lead to you

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget
but it's no use
Your memory is there
wherever I go
whatever I do
all roads lead to you

  • ACC's #44 song of '82. God bless ya, brother Steve! Thanx for postin' it. Have a blessed week!

  • @DOCTOR562 Today's country is the "pop" or "new wave" sound of the 1980s. Back in those days, country music actually was country music not oldies pop stuff that sounded like Huey Lewis or Bruce Springsteen.

  • Wow. Life was so much better in 1982 that it is today. I remember being a 10 year old back then with songs like this on the radio, shows like the A Team on TV and Reagan kicking Soviet ass.

  • good old 80's, used to play this non-stop :))

  • One of my all time favorites and i remember when this one came out. I had the tape and loved it!!!

  • Love all the props to Glen Campbell on here!

  • I remember playing the hell out of the Cassette tape.

  • One like SERIOUSLY?

  • TO ME TODAYS COUNTRY HAS A DIFFERENT SOUND... THIS IS GREAT THO I LOVE RETRO COUNTRY

  • @joetheiceman not that I know of.....it reminded me of another trucking song by Ronnie Milsap "Prisoner of the highway"
