Jimmy Cliff - Many Rivers To Cross

Watching the Help for Haiti benefit left me needing to hear two songs that were done (which were on this album) - Many Rivers to Cross and By the Rivers of Babylon. Bare naked feeling. There aren't too many singers around today who are this moving.

I dedicate this to the people of haiti from the people of jamaica.....you will rise like the mythological phoenix from the fire....you are a proud people and you will find your way over. We are proud of your humanity in digging and finding survivors for days, many you knew nothing of before this great tragedy. ONE LOVE FROM JAMAICA TO HAITI!!!!

Purchase the The Harder They Come album. It's arguably the best reggae-album ever made.

Jimmy Cliff just gets right into your bones with this one. Brilliant.
