that's like 2 million dollars worth of instruments

Me parece que Claudio Abbado ofrece una versión de la quinta con una emoción intensa; en lugar de enfatizar una versión netamente épica, expone cuadros bien trabados que van emergiendo como una construcción que envuelve en intensas emociones.

Abbado took this angry masterpiece and turned into a children's song. Terrible.

@takashijoh Stop watching Dudamel and wasting your time with his hair dance! The conductor role is much more than been shaking the boots up in the stage.
-
@takashijoh the passion is not in what you see, but in what you hear, just listen once with closed eyes...
-
Hmmm, I was expecting the conductor to be more animated ... where's the passion?. Ah well ...

@medicitv I will check it out, thanks! What I like to do on YouTube is to raise awareness of aspect ratio. Much like music, visual representation of objects is an art. And much like Beethoven, who wouldn't like his music to be listened to in telephone quality, a visual artist wouldn't like to have his peace being distorted by squashing or squeezing it. Granted, this video doesn't show a Picasso. But still there are people who don't like wrong AR. Why many others don't care? I don't know...

@whiterottenrabbit You can enjoy the performance with a correct aspect ratio and great quality on our website!
@MrChris1125 To tell you the Real Truth, You understand nothing of music!!! It's an excellent interpretation !!!

May I offer another perspective? Abbado's Beethoven 5th is no Otto Klemperer or Karajan or even a Solti or a Muti. It's a more subtle creature, I suggest. He takes a less martial approach, bringing out a greater warmth and sensitivity - more of a love of life, or as the Germans say, Lebenslust. If you don't care for this approach, fair enough. I think it is an interesting new angle - and yes, I like it. I also think, in passing, Abbado is something of a one-off musical genius.
