Sweden's lucky that their new Prince is such a class guy. Speaks from his heart with passion in his words.

I've always admired Victoria, thought she was a sweet and elegant young lady. I can just FEEL the love Daniel and Victoria have for each other and that speaks VOLUMES. I get teary-eyed every time I watch this. Bravo, Daniel, bravo!!

What I especially liked about Prince Daniel's speech, was the fact that it came from his heart Perhaps he had thought about what he was going to say in advance but his words seem geniune. I like the fact that he didn't have too read from a text like his Father and the King did.

Oh my god so wonderful couple, so charming ceremony) The best wedding I've ever seen. Fairytale in reality:D
Also, does anyone know if the name of the royal house of Sweden will change from Bernadotte now that HRH, Victoria, the Crown Princess has married Daniel Westling, or did he take his wifes name?

@Taopuppy Hi, The Royal house of Sweden will keep the name Bernadotte. The name follows the regent, no matter gender. The same principle applies in Denmark where the Queen hold her family name Glücksburg, and in Great Britain where Elizabeth II's family name is Windsor (They changed it from Sachen-Coburg-Gotha in 1917, because it sounded too German, who was the main enemy during WWI.)

@fingal61 Actually, about Great Britain, I'm not sure that is strictly true. Queen Victoria was of the House of Hanover. It changed to Saxe Coburg-Gotha with her son, Edward VII, who took the name from his father, Prince Albert. Maybe it's different in the other countries which now practice absolute primogeniture where birth order determines right of succession regardless of gender.

@Taopuppy
Maybe you're partly right. Prince Philip apparently expected Elizabeth to take his last name at marriage (Mountbatten) but Winston Churchill persuaded the queen to issue a royal proclamation declaring that the royal house was to remain known as the House of Windsor.

@fingal61 And to answer your question aout Daniel's name: He's now part of the Bernadotte family and goes by the "private" name Daniel Westling Bernadotte, with Westling kept as a middlename. His official title though is HRH Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland (West Gothland).
