Iain speaks gaelic for the first minute or so, and shows off how awesome Loch Katrine is to the music of the Tannahill Weavers!
(P.S. sorry if I made any mistakes with the Gaelic)

  • Tha do Ghàidhlig glè mhath a-nis! Tha mi toilichte ris am fios air a tha daoine ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig! Sin thu fhèin Iain!

  • tapadh leat!

  • out of curiosity, how did you pick up Gàidhlig?

  • Tha mi ag ionnsachadh Gàidhig comhla ri mi fhìn. Tha mi a' cleachdadh an leobhar "Teach Yourself Gaelic". Gu mì-fhortanach, chan eil mi ann an clas na Gàidhlige mar thusa.

(I'm studying Gaelic by myself. I'm using the book, "Teach Yourself Gaelic". Unfortunatly, I'm not in a Gaelic class like you.)

  • Cool! Congrats on being able to teach yourself a language on your own - that must take some discipline. I'm quite grateful to be in Edinburgh where it's possible to take a structured class, and I'm totally going to continue studying after I go back to the states.
