@1994christhomas the thing about this song, originally by Skynyrd, and covered by Shinedown who are also from Jacksonville, is it represents a time when Ronnie Van Zant places himself in the child role being asked by his Momma, to just be a Simple Man, in a crazy time. It's a song that still resonates to this day, nearly 40 years later. The very fact that all these fans sang it with Brent, word for word, is astounding. This video does not do the performance justice when it came to how much emotion Brent put into it. Still one of the best concerts I've been to because of Shinedown that day, even though it was at such a small venue like good ol' Esky.

im not a huge shinedown fan. but i kudos them on doing this cover and dedicating it to dd's memory. he truly was a great and will forever be missed. RIP Dimbag Darrell. you lived life to the fullest in your short time on earth.
