This is a short clip displaying the honours won by the St. Mary Society (Mqabba) Sections:
The King George V Band strengthened its name through the establishment of international relations with other bands from different nations worldwide. This led to the town-twinning with Corpo Bandistico di Santa Vittoria in Matenano of Italy in 1996.
The Youths Section organised a "Live Crib" during the month of December 2007. The high standard of this crib was awarded with a first prize for the 'Live Cribs Category' by the National Commission for the Folklore within the Malta Council for Art and Culture.
On the other hand, the St. Mary Fireworks Factory won two prestigious International awards. In 2006, the complex established itself as the overall winner of the First Malta International Fireworks Festival, which was held at the Grand Harbour in Valletta. In 2007, the Saint Mary Fireworks Complex of Mqabba held an outstanding stride by excelling in the closing show given for the Second Edition of the Malta Internation Food and Fireworks Festival. The climax in 2007 was however reached in Valmontone, Rome, Italy, when the Fireworks Group participated in, and won, the 2007 edition of the International Aerial Fireworks Championship of Caput Lucis.
What a Society! Proud of forming part of it! Kburi! Viva Santa Marija!
