I've got like 6k+ matches on SSFIV before getting bored with it. I honestly think the gameplay got way too vapid. I just see the same stuff over and over and over. Every time I see a character I know how the match is going to play out and I just have to adjust accordingly. I think the mindgames that go on in 3rd Strike are higher because of the sheer amount of defensive options at one's disposal compared to this game.

Howd you get that ryu alternate??

Street Fighter sure has come a long way. Do you think this game is faster or slower than SF3 and previous games? Many people would like to see a SF that is new gen but more like SF3.

To be honest I wanted sf4 to be more like sf3 when it first came out. I thought it was slower and more boring cuz of fireball traps and shit like that were back. But now I enjoy everything about the game. It's more based on strategy and execution, so mental games are huge. The speed let's a lot more players actually land all their combos with practice, which makes the game much better to watch.

@cubaisdeath I like how Capcom is improving things over time. Compare SF4 to SSF4AE2012. Capcom just tends to come out with new versions of the game and make people pay more. AE2012 being a free update is nice.

@Shouxiao yeah, I mean they have always done stuff like that, but with this game they had legitimate reasoning. they made super a standalone product because of the amount of content they included. paying for AE wasn't that big of a deal, and having a standalone disk is great for new players, or those without access to internet. 2012 didn't add new content or anything like that, so forcing people to pay for a balance patch would be ridiculous (continued in next post)

@cubaisdeath having played and seen every rendition of this game, I do think that this latest patch is the best. if you watch tournament videos and such, you will see a lot more characters being played at a high level, which is what is desired for every fighting game. no character in 2012 is garbage. some are definitely worse than others still, but its nice seeing 10 different characters in the top 10, rather than 3 or 4
