Recorded on April 7, 2011 using my 1981 Rickenbacker 4001 running in stereo through two Gallien Krueger 700RB II amplifiers. Moog Taurus pedals were also used.
And as usual, a production flaw...this time the focus on the camera has a mind of its own....

  • Hi, congratulations!

    Awesome playing, awesome sound!

What about cabinet under those GK heads? Are they GK too?

Can I get a similar sound with only one GK 1001 RB II head and a GK NEO 410 cabinet? (using a mono bass).

    Thanks a lot!

  • @MrCONTROSTERZO The cabs I use with those amps are old Acoustic 106 (2X15)

The sound you are hearing is the direct signal from the amps. So, I think you could get a similar tone with that 1001RB II since the 700RB II amps have the same tone sections. The only difference is the extra power that the 1001 has. Those cabs are used for live applications only. Thanks for watching!

  • By the way, doesn't the bass stop on the record at 13:09? Love the pickup at 13:32 - awesome Geddy; you nail it again.

  • @bellbrass

    Thanks for the compliments!

The bass part keeps going at 13:09. It's just not as up front in the recording as I am on this one.

  • Hemisfears!

  • Excellent job, my man! Geddy tears it up on this album. Circumstances is my favorite bass song, ever. I learned this album on drums when it came out. Geddy's playing at 12:25 just grooves and drives all over the damn place.

  • great!

  • Fantastic Job!

  • *clap clapclapclapclap* BRAVO! absolutely brilliant playing! You really got into the zone with this one! nice equipment! love your Ric!

  • Brilliant, note perfect, and what a sound. Must have taken ages to learn that to that standard. Congratulations!!!.
