On low-population servers, the War in Warhammer is removed, and replaced by doors. Stalwart fighters on Order side combat boredom along with Destruction during infrequent keep sieges. Commentary is mostly by Fight on the Flag and Temporal Space members.

  • Too bad you're entirely wrong. Maybe the keep takes aren't as good as they were in DAoC, but it's actually fun so long as one side is actually defending...

    When you've got nobody to defend the keep then it may as well be PvE, but when two sides go at it, it becomes a real fight. Not Doorhammer by any means.

  • You have to keep in mind, Gorfang is the lowest population server that was a transfer destination. It takes us for-e-ver to get a door down. Once with a warband on a high-level door it took us 30 minutes to get both doors down.

    I don't mind fighting defenders at all, but the doors are ridiculous.

  • I think you could incorporate Eve Online's mechanics here to make it even more fun!.

    You pound on the door for 20 minutes. Then it goes invulnerable at 25% and you will have to come back a day and a half later and fight through the blob to get to the door!!

    Or you wait till they time the door, then get it below 50 and then tap it for 8 hours to keep it below 25 % so it will come out in a good time for you!

    Don't you think that would be even more fun? Hey, put down that hammer... please?

  • How many groups do you have on the door? Gorfang is an underpopulated server. We usually have 1-2 warbands of Order running around at night. If the door is fully upgraded and everyone concentrates only on the front door (no postern guarding) we are lucky to get the door down in 15 minutes.

    It's not that we don't know how to push the forts. We do. But door upgrades are difficult to deal with on a low population server. We've been asking Mythic for a merger for months and so far no dice.

  • That's what generally happens. We attack a warband and push them inside, we drop the door in a couple short minutes (where did you get 20 from? I haven't done a take that is more than 15 in total if we have to try twice and it's heavily defended), short pause on the ground floor to lord room push. Tank wall drops in seconds unless the healers are really on their game, (though knockback solves that problem too), and then we burn the lord.

    That is every keep take I've done that's been defended.
