My Dad came home early from work one afternoon suffering terrible chest pains. Four hours later he was dead. My mum had a nervous breakdown and I was sent to stay with relatives I didn't know in a distance city. That was in 1967 when I was 3 years old. Now I am 47 and working through some of the grief that I have carried all my life for the loss of my Dad. I believe one day I will see him again.

@kimzee480 I lost my dad April 22, 2003, he was 69. I will always miss him, he was my best friend.

I was a huge fan of this song and the album The Tao of Love ( if i remember right). My daddy died last September after a horrific battle with Leukemia. There is something about the phrase (my fathers chair) because I think every dad has that special place that they come home to after a long day. Kudos to Mr Springfield for capturing the essence of losing a dad.

I remember when I got to meet Rick. I thanked him for this song and Apr.21, 1981 because my dad died on Apr. 4, 1981 I was 14. Both songs help me make it through my teen years. Me and Rick sat there and cried together my wife took pix of us that day. I will always love this song and Rick. Thank You again Rick.
