  • @notar1 Allows the bridge deck to drain the water, as well as reduce skidding. They groove heavliy traveled roadways and highways in Texas because of the type of pavement they use. In Texas they use a different kind of pavement that is much lighter in color then blacktop becuase of the intense heat they get. Unfortunatly car tires don't grip that type of pavement as well as typical blacktop, and if you factor in rain, it only makes traction worse.

  • what exactly Does the grinding do? There doing a lot of this in Seatle/Tacoma Washington..
