Intermediate level Tutorial. First and foremost, make sure you have reliable execution on your normals, specials, supers and ultras before applying them to the principles here. Without that foundation to build on, you're risking frustration when these techniques fail you in a crucial moment. Once you do get that basic execution down, these are fantastic ways to both trick your opponents and do heavy damage to punish mistakes. This should also help with most problems in completing the Normal Challenge Mode.

  • lol man it was so much more fun and more simple to play back in the SF2 time..

focus attacks, cancel, super cancel, dash... its like studying to play a game =(

i cant really love this SF4 as i did with the 2 turbo

  • LoL, you were playing turbo with the wrong people then. Those old school Turbo masters studied harder than we do now. It's just easier these days because of the internet. Back then you had to spend hundreds of dollars at the arcade to pick this stuff up.

  • FredMchale - thanks for the vid. i consider myself a good gamer.. not expert but good.. and im having a lot of trouble executing focus dash cancels into ultras eg. sagat uppercut, dash cancel, ultra juggle.. how long did it take u to master this technique? plus, have bin using an xbox controller.. does that make this particular technique a lot harder? tx

  • haha, the Xbox controller makes everything harder. The best tip I can offer is to practice the dash cancel without the Ultra. Just keep doing uppercut>dash cancel over and over. Eventually, your fingers will relax and get comfortable, which will allow you to tack the Ultra on to the end. So just get used to hitting those two buttons and getting that double tap out.

  • thank you for explaining in a clear and simple step by step manner 5 stars! (Im a newbie to sf4 and its really hard to do combos and stuff)

  • No problem at all. Glad it's helping people. Sometimes gamers get a little snobbish when they get good, and forget when things were new to them. The more good SF4 players there are, the better!

  • Thank you

  • How about showing El Forte?

  • yea the reaction time needed is crazy, ha.

  • is the x box fight pad easier for focus cancelling than the standard controller?

  • no im the same, i have to be facing right or i usually get my ass kicked!

  • Thanks, Sensei

  • is the "shorayuken" a new move?...lol, just kidding.

  • looking at this i can see why i get my ass handed to me by 13 year old kids online lmao love the game tho ...nice vid thanks

  • The XBOX controller, past and present was never made for fighting games, haha. The Dualshock is leaps and bounds better interms of fighting games. I suggest you invest your money in another gamepad or get a fight stick. I use the Soul Calibur IV fight stick, I got two of them for 70 bucks, whereas most fight sticks now cost over 70 for just one. You can find a new Soul Calibur IV fight stick cheap on amazon. If you can find a Street Fighter IV stick for cheap, GET IT!!!!

  • thank you for explaining the focus dash combos,i alwayz hav trouble excuting dis move,5 stars
