As a child, those flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz always scared the crap out of me. To this day, I'm still scared of flying monkeys. Fortunately, I have not encountered any. But, if I did, I'd be scared ... and so should you.

  • I simply love flying monkeys. Check out our new video "Star Trek Meets the Wizard of Oz" trailer.

  • People always say "Fly, my pretties, fly!" but she doesn't actually say it. In the musical Wicked (not that I'm going to link the two, they're seperate), Elphaba DOES say it after the monkeys are set free.

  • I guess the lesson learnt is that you should always carry a banana with you wherever you go

  • I'm a flying monkey in my school musical!

  • This is probably the only scene that scared the crap out of me as a kid.

  • A friend of mine's uncle (now deceased) played one of the flying monkeys in the original film : )

  • OMG the witch smoke XD

  • They' landin' in yo' dark woods, snatchin' yo pretties up, so you' better hide yo' girls, hide yo' scarecrows, annn' hide yo' tin men 'cuz they' takin' err'body out heah'.

  • tin man had the right Idea.

  • @davidemerling I think it was a technical error. Note WWOTW stops talking when she rubs her hands together. The PA may have started the sfx at that point accidentally.
