Did you see Daniel Day-Lewis face after their performance? The song was from the movie for which he was also nominated, but I guess this made little difference at that moment. He looked stunned.

@Schaker1000 pretty sure the Academy didn't want any anti Iraq war comments like they had with Michael Moore at the same event. Probably Bono would have said something against it.
