Los Angeles averting Carmageddon

The weekend closing of the 405 Freeway, a major traffic artery through Los Angeles, sparked fears of massive gridlock - the dreaded Carmageddon. But, as Bill Whitaker reports, the crisis is being averted.

When we use to live in LA we almost found ourselves near that area every weekend. It is a cool place to cruise that area has more stars out doing their thing than any other area. Where else will you witness Charlie sheen in a fat viper or Jon Lovitz in a stealth or Metallicas Lars Ulrich driving like a bad ass in a tricked out classic muscle car. Get to the side of Mulholland with the 101 and you can hear Santana playing live at the Hollywood bowl while at Griffith Observatory.

It's pure propaganda!! It looks like they even got local businesses to play along in the keeping the illusion alive and to help gather data on the public's response!
