The Lindwyrm is a Rank V Mark from Final Fantasy XII. Contrary to what the petitioner Fermon says, it can be found in the Garden of Life's Circle area of the Tchita Uplands when the weather is completely cloudy (no blue sky showing at all), but not when it is raining. If it is raining in the circle you do not have to exit the Uplands completely. Just leave the area and come back.
Hunt 22: Old Legends, Decaying Bonds
Petitioner: Fermon
Petitioner's Location: Old Archades * Saw bill posted for the hunting of the Lindwyrm (Rank V). The petitioner is Fermon in the Alley of Muted Sighs in Old Archades. * Hunt accepted. Fermon urges you to destroy the Lindwyrm now, or the entire world could be in grave peril. The Lindwyrm is to be found in the Tchita Uplands. * Lindwyrm defeated! Report to Fermon in the Alley of Muted Sighs in old Archades. * Hunt reported to Fermon. The armor fragment retrieved after the fight seemed to support a theory of his, which made him quite happy.
Bestiary Entry
Genus: Rank V Mark
Classification: Dragon
"Lindwyrm, World-Destroyer, Dragon of Ruin... thus was this fell Creature called in a kingdom now lost in Antiquity. According to noted tale-teller Fulmon, the People of this forgotten Land challenged the Wyrm countless times, sealing it at last within a holy Shrine at the Cost of many lives. It was Fulmon who posted a Bill for this Mark to ascertain the truth of his Theories."
Battle
If you decide to go into this battle around the level of 40, prepare for a long battle (don't worry, it is possible). It is a good idea to bring items that make your party immune to sleep or stone.
Using the Nihopalaoa/Remedy strategy will make your battle with the Lindwyrm slightly easier as he is not immune to Blind, Silence, and Slow. He already has Haste cast upon himself, so the Slow will balance that (it is a very good idea to cast Slow again and keep recasting it once it wears off). Blind and Silence will make this battle easier, but they will not completely ensure victory. The Lindwyrm has a high hit rating, and attacks such as Lvl-2 Sleep, Fireball, Stone Breath, Restore, and Greater Barrier will ignore Silence. Make sure to cast Dispel on him as well to take away his other positive buffs.
Make a strong effort to keep your party buffed. Once he loses about 50% of his health, he will cast Greater Barrier and Restore upon himself. This recasts Protect and Shell on him, as well as brings his health back up to 75% of his maximum. Recast Dispel to rid him of Shell and Protect. Once he is back as 50% of his heatlh, he will begin using Lvl-4 Break regularly instead of lvl-2 Sleep. He will not use Greater Barrier again, but he will use Restore on himself once he reaches 25% health. He will not use this again after that.
Once he is near death, his natural defenses will raise, just cast Bravery and/or Faith. He is also more likely to Chain attacks, thankfully, he is still Blinded. His Stone Breath also increases in damage. This may be a good spot in the battle to unleash a Quickening Chain to finish him off for good.
Keep attacking, keep your buffs up, make sure your party's health doesn't drop too low, and you will come out on top.
