Dreamcast its now 10 years old.It stills shine and thinking and Dreamcast fans cant stop thinking of it..Its Sega Dreamcast no more to say..Long live Dreamcast!!!!

my dreamcast is 10 years old and it outlived my cousins 360, that just proves sega had it right the whole time

I don't care how old the Sega Dreamcast is, it was and still is a great system. The graphics were on par with the ps2(early ps2). I still have a dreamcast(actually 2 working ones), but barely any games, so I plan to order a ton of games for it. Dreamcast forever

@smokslyboltx And people are still playing Dreamcast online. How can you tell PS2 is better if you've never had a DC? You probaly played 1 or 2 games, amirite?

still got mine for last ten year lol no red ring or yellow,red ps screen and no hard core mod. is running like a champ sometime i think my dreamcast run like a chevy like a rock lol

The Dreamcast didn't lose because it had a lack of games or because of poor hardware. The Dreamcast was technically more powerful than the Playstation 2 but sadly due to poor marketing strategies by Sega and rampant piracy issues, developers jumped ship leaving Sega with an amazing piece of hardware with almost no support. The system quit selling, warehouses to this day are still crammed full of DC systems. The hype machine known as PS2 stole the spotlight. Lack of DVD player didn't help either

I still hope to see a new console from SEGA, in the meanwhile, I still play with my Dreamcast, some of my friends still remain surprised seeing how good and funny is play with House of The Dead 2. One of the best console ever made.

i know it lost lol not because of processing power? and im not lying to myself and say it can do all the things the new consoles can do? when did i say that? i just say it was an awesome system with awesome games and it should of lasted longer, it died for several reasons and more than just the ps2 killing it lol(everyone saids that, it gets old) games can be played from CDR's, had no DVD capability, marketing, not the right time for a new console when ps1 and n64 were still very popular.

Oh well i have my opinion of the console and it's one of the greatest consoles to grace gaming and that's my input, don't care if there are other consoles that beat it in terms of graphics or if ps2 won the war, DC is better in my books, no other system got Project justice and that's worth having a DC for alone right there, I'm done with this rambling argument lol.

lol i know it isn't capable of playing something that was specifically designed for a console like GOW 1 and 2 or something like that because it wasn't designed for it but it shines in so many different areas that other consoles don't so maybe thats why people like it so much but the ps2 couldn't do a lot of the stuff DC could do either so look at it that way. People compare games that came out at the same time and thats why the cross console games do look better on the DC DOA 2 Grandia 2 etc.

Look, I don't base my favorite console on power. All power becomes weak after time anyway. I just don't like when people say the Dreamcast could play any game on the other consoles of it's generation. It's wishful thinking at best. We can enjoy the console without imagining it's sales surpassing all others.

Ya i know man! lol sure the DC doesn't have as much processing power but that doesn't matter! as much as you think it does, if you have gamed for as long as you say you have then you know these things already, it's how the power is utilized! ps2 was shit at first now lok at how good games look on it, same for DC if it were out as long I'm sure the developers would advance the way the games were made too and they would look better to.

Sega was innovative, they were creators of fine home and arcade hits, they were original... heck they were downright cool. Still, I don't pretend the Dreamcast could do everthing the newer consoles could do.

Mind you, I am a huge Dreamcast and Sega fan. That doesn't mean I have to make up things to justify why I like it. I don't have to lie about what it was capable of just to feel better about it being one of my favorite consoles. It lost, hard, to PS2. So what? We can still enjoy it without lying to ourselves about it's superiority. Can't you guys live with the fact that it lost?

thats why sega was always innovative and advanced as far as technology goes they never slouched on good games and graphics, people can say what they want and sure they had a few bad decisions but Sega is an awesome company.

I have 83 DC games and 4 Dreamcast consoles including the black sports edition. 66 different consoles and 1,623 games overall. I've been playing it since launch. I'm a huge fan of it. But you two do understand that some things are physically impossible. Right? DC had a great set of launch titles and it was easy to program for. That doesn't mean it's processing power is endless. Time to wake up and join reality. Unless you personally upgrade your DC and reprogram it, there are things it can't do.

That is a true fact as well, i love the ps2 and Dreamcast but the NEC graphics chip used in the dreamcast was better than ps2 mainly for the fact that it could handle better rendering and resolution on environments up close as well as make stuff that's going on in a environment run smoother, for ex explosions and fast pace games like sonic run better on a DC than ps2, ps2 butchered sonic heros, ho god just get it for GC or xbox, and the DC also was good at making surfaces look real too.ps2 no

LOL i probably play DC more than you do and can definetly see the difference in shooters as well as fighters and as far as graphics go, the DC could do more at launch than the ps2 thats why everything looked and played better read up on it?! lol apparently you know a tun on specs like it matters sometimes especially if games look better on a console that came out first, i thiunk the specs aspect turn into lazy programming crap! to each his own! i know the DC is better for a lot of things, so.

Oh, so you honestly believe then that because there are certain multiplatform games, that all games made can function on any console of the same generation? In a dream perhaps. I bet Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Gears of War and Mass Effect would all work on a Wii then? I'm no expert, but that is a ridiculous assessment.

Dreamcast today, isn't any more powerful than it was 10 years ago. Even if developers took the time to milk every ounce of power, it couldn't handle these games. Any statement to the contrary is foolish. I play Dreamcast often, and I know what it is capable of. The physics alone required by the two aforementioned titles would overwhelm the DC. This isn't to knock the Dreamcast, it is a simple fact. Put the system specs side by side and show me how that would be possible. Don't say it, back it up

If you question whether or not these games would look good on a PS2, I seriously question your technical expertise. Listen to me carefully: I am a huge Dreamcast fan. But I am one who is realistic about the system's graphics and processing capabilities.

Thankyou man thats what i was getting at NEC's graphics chip is better in the long run! sure ps2 can pump out 12 million poly's and dreamcast can only pump out 7 to 8 million, BUT! if you ever notice while you play a game like UT on dreamcast then play UT on PS2 -the online play i might add explosions and gun play are choppy and really horrible on the ps2 because it's trying to render too much at once where as Dreamcast only renders what it had too to keep the game satasfying.
