This was... interesting, to say the least. The CGI Godzilla looks good, and I hope the 2012 film can pull it off. The 1994 project's Godzilla models looked equally awesome, though, and what did we get? An iguana. G-1998 wasn't a bad film. It just wasn't a film about Godzilla. It was about a seperate monster being mistaken for and referred to as Godzilla by the American army, and Toho actually confirmed that in some of their films. Still, I'm looking forward to 2012.

Actually, Emmerich never said Godzilla was boring. He said he loved Godzilla and did his own version. Sadly, his version was a rip-off of Jurrassic Park and wasn't ever really a Godzilla movie to the fans of the actual Godzilla series.

It was an "OK" movie, but it really was not a Godzilla movie.

@doltBmB If that is your opinion, then I respect that. I was just voicing my own. However, I would like to point out that on two occasions (GMK and Final Wars) Toho blatantly showed that the "American Godzilla" is not Godzilla.

It was a different take, because Emmerich rightly so thought godzilla was a boring character. He didn't want to do the boring godzilla so he did something new and fresh and interesting. Just like how Noland did Batman diffferent from Burton.
