Powerful 'Our Father' Clip sung by Matthew Vera

We had the opportunity to photography this fine young man and capture this video clip. James LeClaire, the organist, and Matthew are preparing a CD which will be offered to the public soon.

Matthew Vera, age 14 and a Freshman at Northbridge High School, has been a classical voice student since the age of 6 studying under Soprano Marlies Kehler. He has such a love for music that he has learned to sing in six languages (Latin, Italian, German, French, Spanish and English).

Matthew performed his debut as the Youth in Mendelssohns Elijah at Mechanics Hall in 2007 under the direction of Andrew Clark, Conductor of the The Worcester Chorus and the Tufts University Chorale and soloist for Pie Jesu in Faures Requiem under the direction of Will Sherwood, Organist and Director of Music for the First Unitarian Church of Worcester.

While only in the second grade, Matthew sang for Bishop Daniel P. Reillys 75th birthday celebration held at Holy Name High School. He has performed at the Worcester Art Museum and Bostons Holy Trinity German Church with organist George F. Krim.

Matthew sang to a crowd of 10,000 at Ice Cats Hockey last game. He also sang for the Worcester Sharks Hockey as well as other events at the DCU Center. Other notable appearances were for Sherriff Guy Glodis at the Worcester County Sherriffs Ball at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton MA., as well as various Senior Community Centers and Nursing Homes in the towns of Northbridge, Grafton, Sutton, Upton, Charlton, Webster, and Briarwood in Worcester. Matthew still continues to sing for his hometown of Northbridge in Memorial Day observances and other special occasions.
