In the Dominican Rep. there's this joke personality about English speakers and Dominicans mock the people who speak English and pretend like the speak English. For example, my grandmother (may her RIP) would pretend she spoke English and speak a bunch of gibberish to me when I was upset to make me laugh (haha) because I was born in the US. So when I was upset as a lil kid she would joke around and speak "English" to me
