Can an Internet sensation work as a network TV show? Howie Mandel thinks it can. That's why he's developed a show based on the online phenomenon known as "flash mobs." "Mobbed" airs as a one-hour special on Thursday, and we talked to Mandel — who hosts and also produces the show — about coming up with the concept, working through the logistics of creating a flash mob from scratch, and why he thinks people will find it so entertaining. Plus, he reveals how his wife made the best career move of his life!

"Mobbed" airs at 9/8 Central on Fox, after "American Idol," this Thursday night.

I have an idea for a flash mob. My grandson, Matthew is gay. His father lives in Texas and he is afraid to tell him. Not even sure where he lives which is another problem. They have not seen each other about 3 -4 years. Matt is 22 years old. He is very comfortable being gay and has come out of the closet with all friends and close family. Matthew is half Japanese (mother is my daughter), and his father is Korean (a very Korean family).

I have an idea for a new "mobbed"...my partner of 6 years split recentely, leaving me in a hard spot for the rent money, daughters tuition, etc...He thinks he disappeared, but I know he is living less than 5 miles from the scene of the crime! How cool would it be to have 10,000(?) people sing to him on nationwide tv, to let him know that where he is isnt really a secret? Please, Howie, make my dream come true!!!!!!!

@Jeff98177 - Agreed. I think Howie went a little too far with that scenario - especially with prior knowledge of how jealous she is! I was sitting on the edge of my seat and then she says something to the effect of You better not be messing with me crying .. omg. I thought it was over! BTW: Given the situation, I would have went with the girl in the gold dress - lol. When he was standing in front of the trolly I was thinking this chick better be worth it!
