She's A Lover is-in my humble opinion-the song D Bowie built his career on He did pay a fitting honer. What's the Use top 10 all time. It really does make the cut becauce they are the Pretty Things.
Creem mag had been a long time champion of of the Pretty Things. Lester Bangs and Robot Hull in particular. One of them-or another writer there referred to them as "the missing link between the Beatles and the Stones." This may be the song that cements that claim. Hold to to anything on Abbey Road or Beggars Banquet bu t really fills in that piece you knew was always missing. The next 2 songs offer strong evidence as well. I gave up years ago that ayone will ever notice them in the States.
@rod1148 ...here we go again. Sorry but he wasn't. I was assistant engineer on this album with Tony Clerk and Norman Smith the (fantastic) Producer. Great sessions which produced a great album. It's so very heartening that these wonderful songs are still being enjoyed. A real tribute the Pretty Things talent. Cheers Nick Webb
