ringo was talking about when the beatles recorded free as a bird and real love in the 90's using tapes of johns voice. he's not saying john was replaced in the 60's.
that interview is on the beatles anthology seiries.

Paul #1 died in a car crash. His double was probably murdered. Ringo and George were probably replaced (how, who knows?). John #1 was murdered around 1967 (look on the White Album poster, you'll see him dead). John's replacement was managed by Yoko Ono until his death. It's worse than just PID.
