Tardis Spinning Disk Strobe Animation

I created this little spinning tardis illusion for Doctor Who Adventures issue # 42. How it works should be pretty self explanatory (based on a Victorian toy known as a phenakistiscope) and it produces quite a nice illusion of motion. It looks better in reality than it does on screen as you don't get all the focusing, contrast and sync problems.

Presentation of practical effects of motion and physics is to be commended and simplicity of creating these effects is astounding. I rekon the Fibonacci Sequence spin is next .. 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144,2­77.. make a mechanical Spiral effect !
