@conmanwebb No, you don't need a data plan. You can use the WiFi feature to get Internet access.

Great phone!!!!! That is until after 6 months the screen started freezing and the touch points were off. But that has happened to EVERY touchscreen I have had. I'm on the iPhone right now.....we'll see how this goes, but so far so good!

yes.. Just get it UNLOCKED. I have T-mobile 3G.. and this phone works perfectly.
