  • my teacher gave me the formula x=-b over 2a so it looks like x=-b/2a and just plug in the numbers. but it just confuses me

  • @MissSmartCookie1 well, that only finds the x - coordinate of the vertex. it does not find the solutions / zeros / roots for the function

  • the first equation is wrong it should be [x=-2] or [x=-7]

  • @mohamedgtv what i have is 100% correct

  • For the second one, couldn't you have just done (x+1)(x-6)=0 ?

  • can i use the formula to solve for b?

  • @mohamedgtv he has the correct answer work it out yourself if you think not

  • for an easier way to factor look up factoring by the box method
