hey can you help me, my phone is locked I phoned up my old service provider and asked them for the pac code so I could change networks...they needed the most called on my phone, but the number is on my sim card and my phone is broke. When I put it in my new phone I get a sim lock message, I was wondering how I could unlock this my self for free, can you help?

do you have to unlock phones or anything or what do you have to do if you wanna swap your blackberry bold 9700 (virgin) sim card with your friends HTC desire (t-mobile) sim card. we are both in the middle of contracts but we want to maintain our own contracts but just with each others phone. pls help?
