This video tutorial covers the process of creating a molds. The example part here is a simple steering wheel, but many of the steps are the same for other molded parts such as bodywork.

  • This tutorial is great! You covered everything I'm looking for except for how to deal with straddle surfaces. I'm designing a prop for a thruster and in my specific design I cant simplify the loft of the blade in order to create the mold and I would like to place parting lines along the edge of the prop. You took out the lofts on the simplified model so you almost answered my question. The SW tutorials don't cover this either. Can you help me out? Thanks in advance.

  • @javargas917 The person who does our tutorials says that what you're asking for isn't something they're familiar with. We'll keep the request in mind when we bring in some people this summer to make some more videos.
