This is a Bachmann GP-30 DCC installed engine. I took a quick video of it going around the new complete sceniced section of the layout.

  • Is this a first generation (split frame) or second generation DCC ready specturm?

  • It's one of the Bachmann DCC installed ready to go Models. It was a cheap/good price on Ebay. I couldn't resist.

  • its really hard to tell from the camera but do your tracks have super elevated turns?

  • No, they don't. On my dream layout they will. This layout is for my Dad, he did most of the mainline track work. He wouldn't want to be bothered woth that detail. For him, a hunk of plywood with some track on it is good enough... I'm the scenery and detail guy.

  • i love the gp-30's they are a nice looking loco

  • do u know if the pwer cab is better then the pro cab by NCE

  • @myowngod2 lol i wish my family where into model trains....

  • it took a while for it to come out at one point(thatswhatshesaid)

  • Nice, just wondering if such existed since I just got for free the same engine. PRR 2215 but is an old split frame. I can still DCC it though, just takes more work. Which is fine, the split frames heavier and pulls more.

  • nice to see the trains rollin again... :)
