@BlushingMocha741 She adopted many children...12 in fact. She called them her "Rainbow Tribe". Thanks Madonna and Angelina for biting off Josephine just for publicity. Josephine did it from the heart. <3

@MiamiPush2theLimit Thank you !

She played that role unwillingly, but Josephine and Miss Minaj chose to play the sex puppet. No it is not Josephine mimicking a dancing monkey in a banana skirt that makes me call her a whore. It is the life she led. If I lie, what am I ? A liar. If I kill, what am I ? A killer. If I act like a whore I need to accept to be called by my actions. That being said, she was a good singer.

@buglove256 I would love to specify that me calling her as such has nothing much to do with the roles she played. I base my saying on her biography and documentaries about Miss Baker. And while I would love to say : Hey it wasn't her fault, it was the only way a Black woman could then showase her talent... I can't help but think about the Black Venus who was forced into prostitution because she represented a perfect Jezabel to the Whites..

I'm American and J'adore "la venus negre"

@VyNaturally ok why do they have to be whores? In miss bakers time the only way an african american woman could showcase her talents was by showcasing her sexuality or perhaps you would prefer she portrayed a maid or slave the only roles offered to african american females at that time. no wonder she moved to france

@nandusell if you pay attention to their videos and look at her old stuff some of her dances were copied to the t voting up!

@21kimmik And yeah... Josephine Baker was the Nicki Mian of her time... a whore.
-
@21kimmik Lol Happy new year ! :)

@VyNaturally YOUR RESPONSES TO ALL MY FACTS ARE AS DUMB AS YOUR FACE...... GET YOURSELF A MAN OR A WOMAN.... AND FIND YOURSELF SOME INNER PEACE....AND QUIT STALKING ME!

She was a woman with unique talents that were far ahead of the times she lived in. Her innate gift to entertain, afforded her a rather blessed life-style despite the familiar racial obstacles, at the time, that were prominent before her. Intellectual capabilities, you bet, because she didn't crumble nor capitulate at the feet of the tyrannical system that sought every imaginable way to preclude her success.
That's curious. No i didn't realize that......
Thanks for noticing.
