At First Sight: Part 6

Jocelyns POV

I kept looking at him. I knew I had to get out of there or I would have started crying.

Jocelyn: No. Not at another venue. Bye Nick.

I walked so quickly out of the tent. I didn't even turn around to see if Desiree was behind me. I could feel the tears swelling around my eyes. Everything was getting blurry. I felt Desiree put her hand on my shoulder.

Desiree: What's wrong with you?! Why didn't you stay and talk to him?!

I looked up at her and she could see me almost crying. She looked shocked. I never cried in front of people, so she could tell I was really upset. She hugged me and put my head on her shoulder.

Desiree: What happened?
Jocelyn: We shouldn't have came.

She put both her hands on the side of my face.

Desiree: Tell me what happened.
Jocelyn: He didn't even recognize me. He doesn't even remember me.

Desiree was about to say something, and she stopped. She knew there was nothing she could say to make me feel better. This was my last chance, and it was over, done.

We got to the car and she started driving. I put my hair up in a bun and took the heels off. I could feel her looking at me.

Desiree: You have to think of it like this. Whens the last time he saw you? When you were about 10 or 11 right? Well you aged! You look different now and you're all dressed up.
Jocelyn: We were best friends for that whole time Desiree. He should have known.

Desiree dropped me off at my house. I usually always picked her up for school and dropped her off, but I told her I wasn't going tomorrow.

Desiree: Alright, well..try not to let it bother you as much. Just remember what I said.

As soon as I walked in I could hear people talking. It was my mom and someone else. I walked into the kitchen and I saw Denise standing there talking to my mom. I raced up the stairs before either one of them could see me walk in. I was laying on my bed when I heard my mom call me down. So she did see me. I took my hair down again and wiped off my tear smudged mascara. I walked downstairs and I saw Denise smiling up at me. She came over and gave me a huge hug.

Denise: Oh my goodness. You've gotten so beautiful! Me and the boys have missed you so much.

I felt the tears rising up again. I knew one of them that didn't seem to care.

Denise: I'm so glad I was able to get your mothers phone number. Moving around so much you lose these things.

I heard people walk into the house. I could hear their fathers voice and the boys. I stayed facing the kitchen so I wouldn't have to look at them. I felt somebody come up and hug me from behind. They rested their head on my shoulder.

" I missed you so much."

I knew immediately who it was. Nick. I turned around and looked up at him. When I did his eyes widened and he put his hand over his mouth.

Nick: Oh my goodness...

I stayed staring at him for a second and I walked away and ran upstairs. I couldn't even bear to be in this situation right now.
