Dennis Prager talks about correct and incorrect uses of generalizations. He uses an example by DNC Chairman Howard Dean to show how a false generalization is used. He makes some correct one's using leftist environmentalists as an example, as well as Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

  • This is very important. I have met a person who has said "there are no red states and there are no blue states" because there happen to be some minority of liberals in red states and conservatives in blue states.

    Great Example.

  • He is a pleasure to listen to.

Just a brilliant, intelligent, coherent gentleman.

  • Generalizations are the mother of all wisdom. A wise person knows how, where and what to generalize. For example: seat belts save lives. Of course there have been people killed by them. People have drowned and could not get out; others because their car flipped over and burned to death. Fact is, there is nothing to be learned from that. Their deaths are terrible but the fact is (a wise person would say) nothing is t be learned from it. Still seat belts save lives.
