Hi Cass2chk: Costs are relative to value. Payback is what matters. The payback on JPods, like most railroads, is incredible.

@Cass2chk, let's hope it costs $billions. That's cheaper than the $trillions it will take to keep propping up our moribund automotive / oil industries.

The biggest _maintenance_ cost is energy. With solar power, the transport fleet will take less maintenance than anything before. (Remember, there were serious maintenance issues during the horse and buggy era!!)

The project is so nice but so so expensive to initiate. Hiring consultants, equipments, and maintenance are so expensive and will suck $billions. Huge gain if you got idiot consumers. The investment to power a single house is equivalent to 30 yrs to 50 yrs consumption of power. How about its maintenance through that period?
