I'd like to understand what the deal is with Facebook. I live in HCMC and my access to Facebook from my home is blocked. Viettel is my service provider. However, I recently was able to access Facebook from a coffee shop nearby. Are some ISP's not going along with the ban? Could it actually be voluntary? And, btw, does Vietnam deny that it is blocking Facebook, or have they come out and announced it? (If the latter, what reason do they give?)

OK I have spent 4 days in Vietnam, Saigon (or HCMC or whatever the commies named it). I could still access to Yahoo, Google, Facebook...and of course, YouTube. However, if you talk shit about the government on the internet, you would be warned by the "cong an mang".

BTW just blame on the GOVERNMENT and DON'T talk shit about our motherland, please!
