Students in the Duke TIP Nanotechnology course tested just how stain resistant Nano-Tex fabric really was! The result was similar to the lotus effect. We intend to put the fabric in the scanning electron microscope to discover the morphology of the fibers responsible for the stain resistance. Check duktetip.nano.googlepages.com for the resulting images.

  • @DECIFERTHIS09 mee too

  • @1super5tar i) Learn to spell. ii) Then order Chlorodimethyloctadecylsilane or something like that. You can do it at home with a CD (polycarbonates) and acetone (nail polish remover). You just pour it ovet the CD, wait until all the acetone has evaporated.

  • @123cocoseba It wouldn't get dirty in the first place. And if it would, you would pour water over it and it would clean itself. See Lotus effect, CA hysteresis, etc.
