Just a clip from a DVD, I wanted to see the DVD upload quality vs tape upload. Vito plays a Japanese sailor on Gilligans Island in an early episode. He usually played Italian characters since he's from Italy. Lots of comedy bit parts.

  • i realy wonder with all the political correct bullshit today if this episode even get played anymore becasue i know there are carttons that have gotten pulled for the same reasons

  • Correction...Nazorine the baker

  • This guy is the greatest. Loved him as a Russian diplomat and also Sam Picasso on The Addams Family.

Funny thing is, I've watched the Godfather who knows how many and never realized he was Enzo the baker.

  • @DarkPonzu

I don't think this is that racist compared with nuking Japan twice ... I think thats a little more of a burning issue than this light hearted comedy ... if you don't like it, then don't watch it ... if you don't like America, then you can get out.

  • @takfam07 Would it have been any better of a portrayal if an actor of Japanese decent were cast? I think not, and that's not the point. If Japanese people enjoyed this portrayal, then it is a credit to Vito Scotti in his authenticity of the character combined with his sense of comedy. It was not the intent of producers to purposely ridicule certain ethnic groups in their casting, but to cast quickly those reliable actors who could deliver. Scotti was one of those character actors.

  • The thing that is remarkable about this clip is that it shows the versatility of Vito Scotti as an actor who was usually type cast as Italians and Latinos. It's just plain fun. And if someone doesn't appreciate it for what it was intended to be,

that person is to be pitied.

  • How did he ever see through those thick glasses1

  • @DarkPonzu I have Japanese friends who laughed like hell at this. Back then shows made fun of EVERYBODY, and EVERYONE equally...blacks, whites, Italians, Asians, Swedes, French, British, Germans, Indians, etc....There were no government and media fascists to tell us we couldn't laugh at something. This is FUNNY, and Vito Scotti was a very funny actor. I'm guessing you're a young, white, self-appointed watchdog who gets offended on behalf of people who don't need your anger. Lighten up. Laugh.

  • You are all right. It's racist, but it is funny!
