This song is on Johnny's 50th Anniversary Concert DVD which was filmed during his live performance on stage in October, 2006 at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. The song was featured in the 1971 movie "Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory" and was written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley specifically for the movie. This song is not mentioned in the original book by Roald Dahl and also is not mentioned in the 2005 film adaptation by Tim Burton. Gene Wilder played Willy Wonka in the 1971 movie and also sang this song.

"Come with me and we'll be in a world of pure imagination, take a look and you'll see into your imagination.

We'll begin with a spin travelin' in a world of my creation, what we'll see will defy explanation.

If you want to view Paradise, simply look around and view it, anything you want to, do it, wanna' change the world, there's nothing to it.

There is no life I know to compare with pure imagination, living there you'll be free if you truly wish to be."

  • @CoolWhiteChick Yes, talent and then some, thanks for stopping by.

  • I hate to say it but old Gene did this way way better.

  • @dirtslug Gene Wilder did a good job on this. They are using this song, with Gene's voice in a commercial of late on TV. I do like Johnny's intrepretation on this song. Thanks for dropping by.
