  • @JessiBessi93 Yeah I was in Canada too. I lived in the Metro area, about 15 minutes from the bridge collapse, and I happened to be on a fishing trip to Lake of the Woods when this happened. We were out on the boat fishing all day, and when we returned to the island that we were staying on, we heard the news that the bridge had collapsed. When we got back to the Cities, we went to see the bridge at least four times.

  • Thats actually the State Patrol Helicopter

  • Bottom line, this bridge was a disaster from day 1 according to the investigation. It was poorly designed, and the poverty-stricken Minn. Dept. of Transportation didn't maintain it very well either.

In my estimation, if you've seen other pictures of this bridge, it looked more like a railroad bridge than an eight lane highway bridge.

  • And this happened during rush hour traffic..so sad. did they ever find out WHAT CAUSED the collaspse in the first place?

  • Blessings to all that this tragedy has struck one year ago today. Just so you know, the 35w bridge actually does not connect with St. Paul. It connects downtown Minneapolis with Northeast Minneapolis. Thanks for the vid.

  • This was SO sad....I was in Canada when this happened & ALL the national news crews were talking about it

  • This is probably the worst bridge collapse in world history. If you compare it to the quake of 89 (just including the bridge), Oakland, Cypress, and EVEN Tocomma narrows.
