  • Thanks again, I only use mineral spirits because 1) less odor than turpentine, and 2) thinner than oil.

    some artists mix in linseed oil to make the paints a bit less stiff. I don't like the yellowing and varnishy shine that excess linseed oil creates. If I do need thin paint for detail work I'll just use the mineral spirits which I also clean the brushes with.

    Tell me do you mix linseed oil with turpentine or only use white spirit as a solvent
