  • for those who are thinking what a dumb vehicle , it was meant for rapid cargo transport and transporting the wounded out of combat zones.

  • hey thanks for posting this video.

my dad had one for a couple of years. we never really had any purpose for it so we sold it like 2 years ago. it was really fun to drive and ramble over stuff though.

  • @BattleWalker572 ,mate who wouldnt want one of these.Be a cool rig for hauling deer/pigs out of the bush

  • haha we have one of these just got an m60 and my vietnam uniform and gear pictures look amazing infront of ferns

  • I used to drive and work on them while I was with 8th Combat Engineers in the Marine Corps (79-89). I 've never seen all-wheel steering

  • @BattleWalker572 we had one on okinawa when I was with Landing Support Battalion back in 79-80, it took us about 4 months to get it operational, damn thing hadn't run in years from what we were told, on it's first test run a corporal got busted by the Road Master for exceeding a safe speed, and not having a "trip ticket" his ass got smoked by Battalion, Marines just having fun

  • The last time I seen one used was in Desert Storm back in 90-91 civil engineers and supply squadron used them primarily

  • Curious. The Mongoose in Halo is a M274 used by the UNSC. This one is a M274 A2 Used by the USMC.

  • This thing makes sense. It provides a "bridge" between manpacking something and using a proper vehicle.

  • Back in Vietnam these were used heavily on fire bases for transporting ammunition for the guns stationed at the base. Of course they could do damn near anything, even be used in combat though i would highly discourage such use for several obvious reasons :P
