Just testing out new DGM cosplay, using the cam as a mirror

Didn't notice the front of the jacket pulled out again and wig is not styled/hair sprayed yet. I also had no depth perception with the eyepatch on... so I was walking a little off balance-like (it felt weird, visually, while walking around... so I tripped/walked into doorknobs, etc...). I started getting used to it, but I was still walking into door knobs on my blind side... lawl.

Had to use my net book's web cam instead of a regular digi cam to play back and see what I looked like. I decided to post so I can show what it looks like to my friends.
Got the cosplay and wig about a week or two ago.

The screaming in the background is my mom's sun conure, Nugget (she could hear me moving around upstairs). Was at my parents for the weekend and decided to try it on (probably would have been easier with someone home, but oh well).

Love the manga. if you haven't read it and like action/occult/humor, then go for it. Avoid the anime if your picky though. They took out a lot of the darker or bloody scenes while dumbing it down for general audiences, in my opinion. It's not -horrible- but the manga is better, in my opinion. If I seen the anime first, not the manga, I probably wouldn't have gotten into DGM, so much.

Wig isn't styled, I just plopped it on and parted it vaguely in the shape it should be at. Being that it's not styled (combed to specified shape and then hair sprayed), it's prone to flopping in my face.

I should see what it's like with the headband actually worn around the head - the character does wear it around the neck now and then, depending on the scenario - but majority of the time wears it around the head/forehead (though.... it's actually wider/bigger than the rest of my head... But I guess I could sorta tuck the edged under itself...)

The whole thing fits nice EXCEPT the utility belt thing. I'm all hip and no waist, which creates this messed up gap in the back of the util belt (and this is at the last hole on the actual belt part of it). But pulling it higher up just makes me look thick, and pushing it down lower, the bottom of the jacket pulls out at the front really easily (which the front of the jacket being pulled out makes me look like I have a massive gut - like in the beginning). If there was a way to make it smaller... by like... a lot.

I'm missing the boots and two thin belts under it all at the waist, at the moment, but meh. I have the metal badge (seen in the vid) I'm just not going to put it on yet until I get to wear it at a con. I don't want to put any unnecessary holes in the jacket till it's good and ready to be worn for real.

I gotta figure out what to do about the util belt.... Maybe I'll punch a few more holes in the strap to see if I can get it to go tighter -.- Considering it's suppose to sit lower on the hips anyway, I should be able to push it down under the jacket's bottom edge - but that's when the giant gap in the back happens.

The scarf was too short also, but that can be easily re-made.

I hate being short-legged and short-waisted =_= No room to do anything/wear anything well ._.

The cons I'm going to in it hasn't come up yet (I guess I ordered it extremely early o_o) but I'll try to remember!

I got the cosplay on ebay - asiaresourcew is the vendor name, but it doesn't look like they have that particular version anymore, with the green bandanna and orange scarf - but they do have the same uniform just with black and white bandanna and white scarf... x_x
